Senior Manager, Product Design

Twilio is a cloud communications company which allows software developers to programmatically make and receive phone calls, send and receive text messages, and perform other communication functions using its web service APIs. I am currently managing a team of designers working on growth, billing and platform engineering.

  • Started as the first and only designer for the Twilio Growth team. 

  • Delivered version 1.0 of CodeExchange which increased activation rates by almost 90%, doubled upgrades rates & influenced millions in the sales pipeline. 

  • Promoted to manage Growth and Billing teams, was responsible for the entire self service funnel metrics including user activation and retention.

  • Delivered  Project Athena,  a brand new onboarding experience for all Twilio developers and increased activation rates by 14%. Delivered Project Schrems, a new upgrade experience for EMEA leading to a lift in upgrade rates by 1-2%.

  • Recently, my role was expanded to manage designers responsible for the core Twilio console, Twilio Identity and Twilio.org responsible for developer satisfaction metrics and enterprise admin  management features.

VMWARE

Staff Experience Designer

VMware End User Computing is one of the 3 core business units at VMware and is focused on delivering the next generation productivity mobile apps for enabling the modern workforce. The biggest challenge for me here has been to work towards making complex enterprise apps consumer simple on mobile for my users - who range from pilots and teachers to doctors and government officials. 

Product:
- Design lead for Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub, an industry leading app on millions of devices.
- Delivered version 1.0 of Intelligent Hub on iOS, Android, Web and Mac.
- Responsible for increasing user adoption and engagement of Workspace ONE.
- Led a project with product managers to build a customer journey map to inform product strategy, improve NPS and to reimagine the next generation of Airwatch Content Locker.

Operations:
- Grew the team by setting up a team of 3 designers from grounds up in Bangalore, India.
- Involved in improving the process and tools to maximize output for designers and product managers.
- Successfully integrated Mixpanel into our products to measure user activity on our apps.

IBM

User Experience Design Intern

IBM Maelstorm is a one of a kind design internship program where the interns are exposed to various different aspects of IBM premium design transformation including branding, IBM Design Camp and IBM Design Thinking.  

  • Worked on hallmark projects like IBM Watson and IBM Mail Next and a personal project on IBM Design Strategy.

  • Used a combination of my own design processes within IBM Design Thinking framework to conduct user interviews, build and validate different fidelity prototypes.

  • The final prototype was presented at IBM HQ in Armonk, NY to the senior leadership.

DESIGN CLINIC

Co-Founder

October 2014  - June 2015

Design Clinic at U of M provides design services for startups in the University and the city of Ann Arbor. The clinic advised startups on design practices and helped incorporate design thinking processes in their development cycles. 

  • Raised $50,000 in funding from the Provost's office to build a sustainable design consulting model

  • Hired, mentored and managed a team of 13 designers

  • Built a client base of 16 startups from Ann Arbor. Worked on 4 successful design projects and brought in 6 recurring clients.

CITRIX

Citrix GoToMyPC was a enterprise product which catered to small and medium businesses to let their employees access their work computers remotely. 

  • Sole owner of the project “Charging tax for eCommerce of GoToMyPC (a remote access product) for US/APAC/EUR regions”.

  • Involved in developing various server side features for GoToMyPC website using Java in a well set agile environment.

  • Worked in tandem with UX designers in enhancing the remote connection experience by re-evaluating the screen navigations
